Private valuation reports are used for a number of circumstances: matrimonial valuations; tax planning; inheritance planning; shared equity settlement; private off-market sales; and insurance valuations.

read moreThe Home Report was introduced in Scotland in December 2008. Anyone who puts their property on the market for sale in Scotland must obtain a Home Report which is available for prospective buyers and their agents for the duration that the property is for sale.

Had never heard of this company before until they were recommended us by word of mouth. There are the usual two surveying companies in the Aberdeenshire area that dominate the market and they appear to have agreed the set fee so that there is no competition between them. Home Report Company quoted me 275 less than what these other companies were quoting and there was no difference in the product provided. Andrew from the Aberdeen Branch attended well on time and was polite and kept us well informed. Had our completed report with us within 2 days. Excellent service and will have no hesitation in using them again. Thoroughly recommended.

Andrew at the Home Report Company was an excellent person to deal with. The finished Home Report is well set out and comprehensive in its scope. The price was also very competitive! Being in a multi-storey block we needed a survey for fire safety and he was able to help us identify companies who could carry out the work for us. We were able to complete everything we needed speedily due to his kind advice. We would thoroughly recommend him to others and have already done so.

Excellent service - Claire was super responsive even in the midst of the pandemic. The surveyor, Andrew, was lovely and thorough, and took all necessary safety precautions when visiting our property. We had the report back next day and the price is better than through any estate agents. Also gives you the added benefit of time to choose an agent for the sale without holding up the valuation. Thoroughly recommend.

I used the Home Report Company in 2015 for another flat and again in 2018. The valuation was very fast and Andrew did the work within a day of signing the contract. I looked at the prices for other Home inspection services and they were also the least expensive. First time I've had to get a home report done. The Home Report Company's quote was a good bit better than anyone else's and better reflected the amount of effort needed to produce the report. The company were very responsive, well-organised, gave a choice of appointment times for the surveyor to visit, and the surveyor turned up on time (and was professional). And finally, the draft and full reports were turned around quickly. Overall, I was impressed - good customer service all round.
